A very quick read, this police procedural follows a rookie state trooper as he investigates the death of a fellow trooper. Somewhat far-fetched in letting a rookie be this involved in a case, which is true for all the Ralph Lindsey books. Nevertheless, Benson writes well and gives us some insight into the trooper’s duties. I may have read this one before in a period of poor record keeping, but a re-read isn’t bad.
