A list of names is found on a murdered priest, leading Mark Easterbrook, young hero on a trail of murdered people, seemingly from a long-distance psychic device. Posing as a client, using his young, female friend as bait, he has to race to find the cure and solution before the long-distance killing works on her.

Ariadne Oliver is tangentially involved here, and provides one vital clue, but does little else. The switch to a new hero and first-person narrator is a bit of a change, but it eventually picks up and provides a satisfactory, if not terribly challenging, mystery.

Looks like Bev read and reviewed this back in 2012.
