Look! I created a Westerns card, too. We’ll see how far I get on this one, but it is somewhat nice to read something else after those 72 mysteries to finished the Golden and Silver Age Bingo challenges.

First published in the October 10, 1929 issue of Short Stories, this story may have seemed cliched by the time of its paperback publication in 1952, but it really pre-dated its many imitators, both in print and in the movies. I could definitely see this as a 1930s B-movie. Smoothly written by one of the preeminent Western writers.
