Thomas Walsh – Nightmare in Manhattan (1950)

Golden Age
Category: Place in Title
Date Finished: March 21, 2015

A thrilling race against time as kidnappers use Manhattan Depot (aka Grand Central Station) as their contact point with the father of the kidnapped boy, and with the police involved with the case. Gives a sense of the station and city, along with the tenseness of the situation. This won an Edgar award and the movie version, Union Station, was nominated for one. The title needed to be changed for the movie version, as it was set in Chicago’s Union Station and filmed at Los Angeles’ Union Station. I need to see that again.
