Craig Rice and Ed McBain – The April Robin Murders (1958)

Golden Age
Category: Time, Day, or Month in Title
Date Finished: March 7, 2015

This was a fun, fast moving wacky mystery that seems much more like Craig Rice than Ed McBain. I don’t know how much he contributed to the story line, but it does not resemble his later work. One doofus on GoodReads calls this extremely dated, while a more observant reviewer calls it timeless. If one thinks that naivete is somehow limited to the past, one is awfully naive.
