Patrick Quentin – The Man in the Net (1956)

Man in the Net

Golden Age
Category: Made into Movie or TV
Finished: February 17, 2015

This was one of my favorite movies as a child, as it seemed to have been shown often on the summer daytime movie. Alan Ladd plays the role a bit too laid back, but what else would you expect from Alan Ladd? The novel, perhaps, imparts a bit more urgency to his role, but the suspense comes across in both, I believe.

By this point in Patrick Quentin’s career he was solely the work of Hugh Wheeler and he moved away from the Peter Duluth series to these suspenseful stand-alones.
