Maurice Leblanc – The Extraordinary Adventures of Arsene Lupin, Gentleman Burglar (1907)

Golden Age
Category: Crime Other Than Murder

Finished: February 16, 2015

Another early mystery novel, actually short stories, available thanks to Project Gutenberg. An ingenious crook, able foil to Sherlock Holmes, as shown in the last story in this volume, and gentleman, Lupin is, of course, extraordinary. With a tablet device, these Gutenberg books are finally easy to read and it has been fun to explore these early mystery novels that have been unavailable, at least to me, for many years. Of course, with the idiotic U.S. copyright laws and never-ending extensions, we may never see items newer than 1923 moving into the public domain.

This work also completes my first bingo, two actually, in the Golden Age Reading Challenge.
